Description

Cabela's Nanaimo is located at 6902 Island Hwy. N. in the Dickinson Crossing Shopping Centre and is a 50,000-square-foot store. The building’s exterior reflects Cabela’s popular store model with log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing. The interior surrounds customers in an outdoor experience, including museum-quality wildlife displays and thousands of quality outdoor products.

Event Details

Come in to Cabela's to get all of your hunting or fishing licences. 

B.C. resident hunters will need a Fish & Wildlife ID (FWID) to apply for Limited Entry Hunting or to buy a hunting licence. The FWID replaces the old B.C. resident Hunter Number card. There is no cost to obtain one. Your FWID is linked to your personal online profile, which can be updated at any time.

We can issue you a Saltwater or Freshwater Fishing Licence and provide the latest B.C. fishing regulations synopsis.

Two pieces of valid identification are required.

In partnership with Silvercore Advanced Training Systems, Cabela’s is pleased to offer The Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) courses at our Nanaimo location. Cost is $175. 

The CORE Program is British Columbia's Hunter Education Program. 

The CORE Program consists of a practical firearms handling test, and a written examination on all of the following subjects:

  • Outdoor ethics and game care
  • Firearm handling and archery equipment
  • Hunting regulations
  • Animals of British Columbia
  • Birds of British Columbia
  • Outdoor survival, first aid & field craft
  • Hunter heritage, conservation and wildlife management

The CORE Manual and the Hunting and Trapping Regulation Synopsis are the resource manuals used to learn these subjects.
