Event Details

Sport Fish of Alberta - Field Identification Workshop is for anglers of all ages who have an interest in the fascinating world of fish.  Unique characteristics define many of our fish and understanding the similarities, habitat locations and regulations will save them from a wrong ID.  Join local fisheries technician, Shona Derlukewich, as she teaches the value of various recreational fish species throughout Alberta, discusses implications of incorrect identification.  Shona will discuss her own personal experiences which led to her passion for acquatic conservation, stewardship and public education and inspire confidence in participants to follow in her footsteps to protect Alberta's beautiful watersheds.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 20 participants. Individuals must pass the Non-Restricted Course before taking the Restricted course. Successful completion of this course allows you to own and purchase a restricted firearm (handguns and certain semi-automatic rifles). Individuals may register by contacting Hans Brink at 780-459-9656 or brinkh@shaw.ca.
