SIDNEY, Neb. (August 28, 2013) – Cabela’s Canada will celebrate the official grand opening of its Regina store Thursday, Sept. 19, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Hosted by Cabela's executives and special guests, the ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. and doors will open for business at 11 a.m. Opening day will begin a weekend-long celebration featuring outdoor celebrities, events for the entire family, giveaways and more.
The 50,000-square-foot store is being built in Cabela’s trademark style with an exterior of log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing. It also includes a large mountain replica, museum-quality wildlife displays, Bargain Cave and Fudge Shop, as well as thousands of quality outdoor products.
The store anchors the Grasslands Shopping Centre, which is being developed by Harvard Developments and includes Lowe’s, Walmart, Golf Town and other businesses. It will be Cabela’s second location in Saskatchewan, joining the Saskatoon store opened in 2012.
More than 150 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees – most from Regina and the surrounding area – will be employed at the store.
Currently, Cabela’s operates 45 stores across North America, including three in Canada – Winnipeg, Manitoba; Edmonton, Alberta; and Saskatoon. The company has announced plans to open 19 new stores over the next two years, including a second Edmonton location and a Barrie, Ontario location in 2014.
